Get Ready to Love Mondays Again
Being a tutor is incredibly rewarding. As you work with students, you’ll build a bond and they’ll become your biggest fans. You can expect to receive plenty of high fives, hugs and excited hellos. While you provide the 1:1 time they crave, you’re building the skills they need to thrive.
Placed at a school, you’ll work with kids 1:1 or in groups to help them get extra practice and build their skills and confidence.
Start and end times vary by location, but you’ll generally follow the same daily schedule as your school. When students are on break for holidays and release days, so are you!
No experience? No problem! Your Reading Corps/Math Corps service will begin with training. We will teach you everything you need to know and support you every step of the way.
As a tutor, you’ll be a special part of the team at your school. A school staff member will be your internal coach and help you day to day. You’ll also have support from your program manager and opportunities to connect with other tutors in your area.
What is the schedule like?
Tutors help students during the school day (Monday-Friday). Some schools have options to serve part-time, while others need people full-time. You can learn more about options available near you by entering your location in the search bar at the top of this page then clicking on individual postings to view more details.
School has already started, is it too late to become a tutor?
No! We recruit on a rolling basis and have multiple start dates during the year. If you’d like to help kids build their skills and confidence, we’d love to hear from you and encourage you to apply.
To learn more about application deadlines and available start dates, please visit our locations page.
I don’t have any experience teaching kids, is that okay?
Absolutely! We can teach you everything you need to know to be successful. Our tutors use scripted activities to help provide the extra practice kids really need. With incredible training and ongoing coaching, we’ll be with you every step of the way. We’ve trained thousands of people to become effective tutors and we know you can make a tremendous impact!
Are there summer opportunities?
Not at this time. All tutoring takes place during the school day when school is in session.
